The year 2026 has started with a real winter. Lots of snow, challenging road conditions, and therefore a logical moment to reflect on the conditions under which we carry out our work.
During this quiet winter period, we have been studying the new General Terms and Conditions of our trade association, the Vertical Transport Association (VVT). These terms and conditions have been amended and apply to the entire sector. To keep things clear, we have listed the most important changes internally so that we can work with them correctly and transparently in practice.
Kilometer charge for mobile cranes
In addition tothese contractual changes, another important development is coming our way in 2026: the introduction of the truck charge.
As of July 1, 2026, the Dutch government will introduce this kilometer charge for:
* transport vehicles
* mobile cranes
The levy applies to virtually all highways and a large number of provincial and municipal roads. This is a mandatory measure that affects the entire transport and haulage sector.
What does this mean in practice?
We are currently assessing theexact costs and consequences as carefully as possible. As soon as we have more clarity on this, these costs will be passed on in accordance with sector-wide regulations. Naturally, we will maintain transparency and timely communication with our clients.
More background information about this scheme can be found via the trade association:

The new terms and conditions can be found here, in both Dutch and English.
