New Sany Rough-Terrain Crane

Exclusive: Kuiphuis Begins Operating the Sany SRE450N Rough-Terrain Crane

At Kuiphuis, we continue to invest in our crane fleet, and this time with a real first. We have purchased the Sany SRE450N. This is an all-terrain crane that Sany developed specifically for the European market, and it is the first Chinese crane of this type in Europe. Furthermore, having an all-terrain crane in a crane rental company’s fleet is quite unique in the Netherlands.

What is a rough-terrain crane?
A rough-terrain crane is designed for locations where a standard mobile crane would struggle: unpaved construction sites, soft or uneven ground, and construction sites in the early stages of development. The crane features large all-terrain tires, four-wheel drive, and four-wheel steering. This makes it highly maneuverable and allows it to move independently around the construction site. It is ideal for infrastructure projects, wind and solar farms, industrial sites, and large construction sites.

The SRE450N at a Glance

  • Lifting capacity: 50 metric tons
  • Telescopic boom: 4 sections, 37.5 meters
  • Weight: approx. 32 metric tons
  • All-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Steering

The SRE450N first took center stage at Bauma in Munich in 2025. There, Sany demonstrated that it is specifically tailoring its cranes to the European market.

Why this faucet?
You don’t just choose a new brand on a whim. As a family-owned business, we take a long-term view. A new crane must operate reliably for years to come and meet the quality standards our customers have come to expect from us. That’s why we thoroughly evaluated the SRE450N before making our decision: its build quality, safety systems, ease of operation for the operator, and service and parts availability in Europe. The crane is CE-certified. Its key components come from leading international brands, such as the Cummins engine, which meets the strictest European emissions standards.

Getting Started Safely and Professionally
Safety is always our top priority, and that certainly applies to a crane that’s new to the Netherlands. Our operators receive comprehensive instruction and training before the SRE450N is made available for rent. This ensures the crane is operated safely and professionally from day one.
