In recent weeks, impressive work has been carried out at the De Trappenberg construction site on Crailoseweg in Huizen. Here, 270 new rental homes are being realized, and our heavy tower crane and heavy crawler crane have played an essential role. Thanks to their powerful lifting capacity and efficient maneuverability, these machines proved to be a perfect choice for the project.
The execution team deliberately chose tower cranes instead of telescopic cranes. While telescopic cranes are versatile, they require more time for setup and relocation. Tower cranes, on the other hand, not only offer a superior lifting chart but can also be quickly moved on site, significantly accelerating the construction process. This choice aligns perfectly with the ambition to ensure the project runs smoothly and on schedule.
The work is part of the large-scale transformation of the former De Trappenberg rehabilitation center. This site will have a new future as a green park with 270 homes, distributed across seven buildings. Additionally, various facilities will be realized. The main building will be converted into a health center with space for hospitality, while the surrounding landscape will be designed to offer residents and visitors the opportunity to walk, exercise, and enjoy a biodiverse environment.
Sustainability is central to the development of De Trappenberg. The park will not only feature extensive greenery but also contribute to the region's biodiversity. The combination of homes, facilities, and a nature-rich environment makes this project a unique addition to Huizen.
Although completion is not expected until the end of 2025, a promising future for De Trappenberg is already in sight. With the deployment of modern techniques and efficient construction methods, a significant step is being taken towards a living environment where housing, well-being, and nature converge.

Instead of using telescopic cranes, which have longer setup times and require more relocation, almost only tower cranes are being deployed.
