"Kuiphuis invests in Spierings' new zero-emission eLift crawlers"

Oss, September 2023
Bob Bruijsten, director and owner of the family business Kuiphuis from Oldenzaal, is investing in two new SK2400-R eLift crawler cranes from Spierings. The first new crane of this model will be delivered to Kuiphuis in the first half of 2024. With this, Kuiphuis is further accelerating the sustainability of its crane fleet.

Within Kuiphuis, five eLift cranes have already been added to the fleet in recent years to meet the demand for electric construction machinery. Bob Bruijsten: “We might be moving faster than construction companies currently are; we notice that it is still something new for construction companies that we can operate electric cranes of this size on a construction site with just a 16-amp connection.”

Furthermore, Bob Bruijsten sees it as everyone's responsibility to do their utmost to reduce emissions.” “When we look at how many hours we operate emission-free every week, that alone makes me proud. Moreover, both new machines are urgently needed; we have requests from all over the country for the eLift system, specifically for the SK2400-R capacities.”

Kuiphuis has a fleet of over 40 Spierings cranes, including several crawler cranes. Kuiphuis observes an increasing demand for these types of cranes. Loads are becoming heavier, and more and more elements are supplied prefabricated, which crane rental companies must adapt to.

Mathieu Braamhaar, Sales Engineer at Spierings Mobile Cranes BV; “Kuiphuis is a wonderful family business that invests in the future. The fact that they are the first to operate our new SK2400-R eLift is a significant milestone. The SK2400-R eLift is a further development of the SK2400-R, which we have been producing for some time. However, the new crane has multiple configurations for lifting.
For example, with just one transport, you already have a lifting capacity of 2800 kg at 42 meters. This makes the crane suitable for multifunctional use.”
